Startobaza took part in XII Congress of the European Business Angels Network

April 23-24 Startobaza took part in the biggest international event of early stage venture capital investments - XII Congress of the European Business Angels Network and VII EBAN Awards Ceremony. This year, the right to hold such a momentous event for the investment world has been given to the National Association of Business Angels of Russia. Congress was held in Moscow in Digital October center, and gathered over 500 participants from 25 countries.

The event was opened by the President of the European Association of Business Angels Brigitte Baumann, president of the National Association of Business Angels of Russia Konstantin Fokin and Chairman of the Management Board "RUSNANO" Anatoly Chubais.

The main points of the Congress were the theme of cooperation between business angels on regional and global levels, discussion about the role of the state in investments and the practical tools of national markets of early stage venture capital.

There were also held panel discussions, seminars and breakout sessions, which included a wide range of problems that business angels and private investors faced with.

Svetlana Nikiforova, managing partner of Startobaza, noted that Congress has provided good opportunity for open dialogue and developing network between business angels in Russia and Europe. The event allowed to view in another way on the challenge of venture investment and share our own experience in this field.

XII Annual Congress of the European Business Angels Network became the central event of the Russian business angels first week, which is holding 23-27 April 2012 in different Russian cities. There is going to hold traditional VII Kazan Venture Fair during the Week: series of open tables, workshops and discussions with the participation of venture capital, private enterprise and state and regional administration. Such events give an additional impulse to the development of the market and attract capital to the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia.
